STAFFORD INDUSTRIAL SUPPLIES LTD TURN 34 YEARS.
In August this year (2023) we will have reached the fine age of 34 years, and I would like to share a brief history of the business with you.
In 1989 Cliff and Margaret McKenzie took the decision to start a business and in August 1989 Stafford Industrial Supplies was born. Cliff, an experienced sales person, and Margaret who excelled in administration, formed the perfect partnership. The company had humble beginnings at their home in Rickerscote, Stafford with their garage being taken over as the warehouse. The company moved to Dewick Industrial Estate in Brocton and flourished there for many years.
Their daughter, Joanne, joined the company along with Patrick and a delivery driver. In 2001 Cliff and Margaret planned their retirement to commence in 2002, to pass responsibility to Joanne and Patrick, also they employed Paul Walters to help with the transition. In 2008 they moved to Astonfields Industrial Estate in Stafford, where logistically, they could better serve their customer base. The move doubled their floor space and added up to date office facilities. In 2010 Patrick left the company and Paul took over as Managing Director.
Embroidery and printing machines were added to the business and more employees taken on. The customer base doubled, and our deliveries have gone national. Stafford Industrial Supplies have become a trusted and reliable supplier of decorated garments, PPE and cleaning supplies and have held the Quality Management System ISO9001-2015 since 2016. A website and a B2B Portal have also been added to help facilitate our customers needs.
